Funded through UBC Eminence Program
This cluster brings together a multi-disciplinary team of researchers from the Materials and Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI) with industry partners and government authorities to better understand and enhance the synthesis, processing, properties and compounding of bioplastic and bio-fibre materials and to produce innovative biocomposite products. The research will focus on the entire production supply chain, from biomass feedstock genetics and biocomposites manufacturing to multi-criterial performance assessment of the final product, including durability, end-of-life design and socio-economic impact. The cluster has been evolved to a Canadian-international network; for more information please visit: http://biocomposites.ca
